Last month Infinix launched its new budget smartphone Smart 3 plus in india at an aggressive price of Rs.6,999 only. The smartphone features a premium design with some features like waterdrop notch, triple cameras, glass design back. These features are mostly available on high end smartphones but at this price point Infinix is giving a lot.
Here i am presenting you a full review of Infinix Smart 3 plus, after using it for about a week. Let’s see how it compares with rest of the devices which comes in this price segment.
First lets take a look at the In-Box contents.
The box comes in green color packaging with infinix logo and the phone name itself, after opening it we can see the smartphone, along with power adapter, micro usb cable, a sim ejector pin, some paper manuals, a screen protector and most interestingly a good quality hard case with a funky design on it. Infinix has done a good job by giving a cover of good quality at this price point.

Design and Display
Starting with the design, the Infinix Smart 3 plus comes with a glossy glass finish design at the back which looks and feels premium considering the price point. I can say that the phone offers a premium design when compared to other competitive smartphone like Redmi 6a which comes with a standard design.
Looking to the overview of the smartphone the phone features a large display at the front and there is a waterdrop notch as well. The right side of the phone features volume controls and power on/off button, while the left is equipped with a SIM slot that houses dual-SIM and microSD card slot.
The bottom of the phone is loaded with a micro USB port between a speaker grill and a 3.5mm audio jack. The back panel is equipped with a vertically-aligned triple-camera setup and there is a flash as well. One can also find the fingerprint sensor at the back.
As far as the display is concerned Infinix Smart 3 Plus is equipped with a 6.21-inch HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. The display is bright enough, all thanks to the 500 nits brightness. The screen offers decent viewing angles with good color reproduction
Performance and Hardware
The Infinix Smart 3 Plus is powered by a quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 processor clocked at 2.0GHz with IMG PowerVR GPU along with a 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be expandable upto 256GB via microSD card. Looking at the specifications, the smartphone should provide a moderate performance at least on the day-to-day activities, but apart from that the smartphone lacks in performance just because of lack of memory. The app load time is quite higher than I’ve observed in other phones with a similar or less configuration
Moving to the software, the phone runs on XOS 5.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie. The user interface comes loaded with some good features. For example, when you swipe left to right, you will see a landing page where you can get all the information right from the favourite apps, recent contacts to booking a cab on OLA and more. There is one more feature in which the recent apps which are stopped in background they becomes grey in color and the other apps which are in memory stay colorful.
As far as gaming is concerned, the smartphone is priced only at 6,999 so we can’t expect a great gaming experience but some games like subway surfers, temple run etc were smooth and when i tried PUBG in this smartphone the load time was much higher but the gameplay was okay, I tried running the game with GFX tool, Yes it helped and the game was playable but keep in mind this phone gives you lot more other features other than gaming.
CAMERA
The main USP of this smartphone is it’s triple camera setup at the back of the phone. It is equipped with a 13-megapixel primary lens with f/1.8 aperture along with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor coupled with a low light sensor. For the front, it is equipped with an 8-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling.
The phone takes good pictures under daylight conditions, pictures turn out good with good details and colors as well as skin tones. There are all the basic functions in the camera app i.e portrait, AI camera, video, AR sticker mode etc.
Portraits shots on Infinix smart 3 plus were also amazing, here are some photo samples taken in day light conditions
The triple camera setup looks amazing, by just looking at the smartphone no one can say that the smartphone is that much cheaper because no company gives triple camera at this price point.
Battery and connectivity
Infinix Smart 3 plus is powered by a 3500 mAh battery, Considering a 720p display coupled with power efficient hardware. With moderate usage, the phone lives more than a day and still offers at least 5-10% of charge the other day. The phone comes with a 5V/1.2A adapter, I strarted charging at 1:07 PM and it was fully charged at 3:40PM so it took more than 2 and half hours, Besides that I’ve no complaint about battery life.
Infinix Smart 3 Plus has both fingerprint scanner as well as face unlock. Both do the job pretty well, and they are quite good. On the connectivity front, it features dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi, dual-SIM, GPS, GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack and micro USB port. The phone measures 157 x 76 x 7.8mm and weighs 148 grams.
Verdict: Should you buy it?
Infinix Smart 3 plus offers a lot of features and a premium design and looks at a very affordable price of Rs. 6,999. If you are a person who want a smartphone with good camera and design with a waterdrop notch at lower prices then this phone is a good deal for you. Battery life is also very good in the smartphone, it can easily last more than a day with normal to heavy usage.
